Name Above All Names

On this episode of Name of Above All Names we discuss one of the most quoted psalms. Jesus, who is our King and Priest, has provided the only way to God and that is through his work on the cross and the eternal office he holds.

In this episode, we discuss the last section of the Westminster Confession and the London Baptist Confession. There are many wonderful things we learn about God, and those same things inform church life and married life. Next time, we will be in Psalm 110 as we work through the Messianic Psalms.

For this episode, we continue with two of the old confessions written long ago. In this second section these confessions speak of God mostly in relation to creation.

On this episode, Issac and I talk through the 1st article of the 2nd chapter of some old confessions of the Christian Faith. These two confessions can be used as tools to understand the word of God, but should not have authority over scripture. We hope they will clarify things.

Hebrews comes to a close and for all that God has done in and through Christ for us, let us show gratitude by living for the Lord. In Hebrews, living for the Lord is maturing in our faith and growing in the likeness of his Son.

We must fix our eyes on Jesus. As we live through this difficult life, take the discipline of the Lord as an opportunity to grow. The Lord desires that we grow into the image of his Son. We must mature and grow in our walk with the Lord. Don't be stagnant, don't drift, but be anchored to Christ.

This chapter is known as the hall of faith. Many believers have gone before us, and they have held on to their faith even though they did not see all the promises in their lives. Are we going to do the same, living life in faith? Let us follow their example as we trust in Christ until the end.

This is the last warning passage. How should we honor so great a salvation? What are the consequences if we don't treat this great salvation with gratitude and humble obedience?

In this episode, we discuss the beginning of Hebrews 10. God has brought perfection and sanctification through his Son's perfect obedience and sacrifice. In Jesus, we have a sure hope, victory is here.

In chapter 9 we see how Jesus is our perfect sacrifice; his blood is necessary for our eternal redemption. His blood alone cleanses our conscience so that we can serve the Living God.
